Pewsey Vale

Pewsey Vale is one of Eden Valley's founding Riesling estates, farming their historic vineyard in the High Eden sub-zone at the highest elevation in the GI. The vineyard was originally planted in the 1840s and re-established by S. Smith & Son (Yalumba) in 1961, making it one of Australia's most historically significant Riesling sites. The High Eden's elevation creates growing conditions ideal for Riesling of exceptional longevity — the wines develop the characteristic petrol, lime, and mineral character of great German Riesling over decades of cellaring.

Pewsey Vale's The Contour Riesling is considered Australia's most ageworthy Riesling, developing extraordinary petrol and mineral complexity over 10-20 years that places it alongside the finest German and Alsatian examples of this great variety.
