Coche-Dury Meursault Perrières Premier Cru
Meursault, France
About this product
The wine that proves a Premier Cru can transcend the Grand Cru hierarchy. Jean-François Coche-Dury's parcel in the Perrières Premier Cru — the finest Premier Cru vineyard in Meursault — produces approximately 400–600 bottles per year. The wine is reductively vinified to preserve maximum mineral precision. The result is a Meursault of extraordinary tension and longevity — it does not drink well young (it is almost shut down) but after 10+ years becomes one of the world's great white wines. Secondary market: $800–$2,500 per bottle. BC: auction only.

Scallop's natural sweetness and iodine note pairs naturally with Chablis and Meursault styles. The black truffle adds earthiness that meets the wine's mineral depth; celeriac puree provides a starchy counter to Perrières' acidity.

Veal sweetbread's creamy richness and subtle sweetness is cut by Perrières' mineral tension. The capers and gribiche provide acidic counterpoint that extends the wine's length. A great Meursault Premier Cru demands food with fat content to balance its compressed mineral structure.
