Germany's southernmost and warmest wine region, stretching 400km from the Rhine to Lake Constance. Known for Pinot Noir (Spatburgunder) and Pinot Gris (Grauburgunder) of Burgundian character, plus rich Weissburgunder. The Kaiserstuhl volcanic plateau is the heart of the region. Large cooperative system but world-class estates producing dry, age-worthy wines.
