Slovakia Malé Karpaty Wine Region

Slovakia's largest and most diverse wine region, extending 100km north from Bratislava along the Little Carpathian mountain foothills to Piešťany. The region's proximity to Vienna and Austria's Burgenland creates a Central European wine culture distinct from Slovak Tokaj to the east. Welschriesling (Riesling Italico), Grüner Veltliner, Müller-Thurgau, and St. Laurent dominate — with a warm continental climate and loess soils producing wines of substantial body and aromatic complexity. The village of Pezinok is the region's cultural center, with a wine museum and annual harvest festival.
