Nashik Wine Region

Maharashtra state in western India; elevated plateau at 565–700m providing surprisingly moderate growing conditions for a tropical-subtropical location. Two harvests possible annually; careful vineyard management produces wines from Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, and sparkling wine from Ugni Blanc and Chenin. India's wine capital, producing 80% of the country's wine.
