Bründlmayer Zöbinger Heiligenstein Riesling

Kamptal, Austria
Austria's most geologically distinctive single-vineyard wine — the Heiligenstein is a 350-million-year-old volcanic rhyolite outcrop above Zöbing, separated from the surrounding loess landscape by geological faulting. The rhyolite imparts a unique flavour signature: intense stone fruit (peach, yellow plum), floral lift (rose water, elderflower), and a smoky-volcanic mineral finish that no other Austrian vineyard replicates. Bründlmayer's interpretation — biodynamic since 2010, native yeast fermentation, minimal sulphur — is the benchmark expression of this unique terroir. The wine achieves extraordinary longevity: 20+ years from exceptional vintages.
