Esporão Reserva Tinto
Alentejo DOC, Portugal
About this product
Portugal's best-value quality red — Esporão Reserva Tinto from Reguengos de Monsaraz is the reference for understanding Alentejo at its quality threshold. A blend of Trincadeira, Aragonez (Tempranillo), Alicante Bouschet, and Touriga Nacional from 750-hectare organic estate vineyards on schist and granite soils under Alentejo's hot, dry Pannonian-influenced climate. Organic since 2010; David Baverstock's 30-year tenure has refined the style toward elegance rather than the extracted heaviness that characterised many Alentejo reds of the 1990s. The benchmark expression: ripe dark plum, dark cherry, dried herbs, and mineral texture — full-bodied but not heavy.
