Giuseppe Quintarelli Amarone Classico
Valpolicella DOC, Italy
About this product
Quintarelli Amarone Classico is among Italy's most mythologised wines. The legendary 3-5 month appassimento, followed by 7 years in large Slavonian oak, produces an Amarone of extraordinary complexity and longevity. Hand-dated bottles by Quintarelli himself are collector items. Unlike Dal Forno's power, Quintarelli's Amarone has more elegance and length — the traditional style at its highest expression.

Meat poultry
Quintarelli's anise-tar complexity and fennel's anise character create an aromatic bridge that works surprisingly well; suckling pig's fat is structured by the wine's enormous tannins

Guinea fowl's delicate gaminess and the chestnut's earthy sweetness are appropriate in proportion to Quintarelli's complexity; the vin santo in the sauce bridges the wine's dried fruit notes
